21 Days of Horror is a horror film competition that challenges filmmakers to write, film, edit, and turn in a 4 to 8-minute horror-themed film in just twenty-one days. Be creative and make the best short film filled with gore, suspense, thrills, and over-the-top horror. The top film will receive a cash prize and other awards will be handed out throughout.

How much does it cost to sign up for the 21 Days or Horror competition?New for 2025 We will have a 1-day super early bird price on January 1st of $100 After that the entry fee is $125 for our standard price The final week leading up to the competition (Tuesday March 25th 2025 - Tuesday April 1st 2025) the price will be $135 If for some reason you cannot compete in the competition the fee is nonrefundable. You can however transfer the money over to the competition for the following year.

How long will I have to make my film?You will have 21 days (3 weeks) to complete your film. The competition kickoff will take place on April 1st where you will be given a horror sub-genre, a scenario, and a horror related prop that must be in your film. On April 21st, you must have your film turned in no later than midnight or it will be considered late.

How do I turn my film in?You can turn it in on a USB drive in-person after making arrangements with the competition's producer. Alternatively, you can upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox and send the link to the 21 days of horror email address or you can use WeTransfer or any other file transfer site and email it to the 21 days of horror email address.

How long will my film have to be?The film must be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 8 minutes. The 8 minutes is including your credits and the 21 days of horror intro template.

What is an acceptable format for my film when I turn it in?MOV or MP4 and no quality higher than 1080p. Try not to be any larger than 2GB.

Where is the kick-off held at?The kickoff will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings on April 1st, 2025 from 6pm to 7pm. The address is: 3011 Westgate Mall, Fairview Park, OH 44126.

Where and when will the films be shown and where when are the awards announced?The films will be shown on May 10th, 2025 at Atlas Cinemas Lakeshore 7 22624 Lake Shore Blvd, Euclid, OH 44123 The event door will open at 4pm There will be 2 different screening groups Group 1 will start at 4:30pm. Group 2 will start at 7pm The awards will follow after Group B within the theater. Each screening group will be $10 per person

Can my film have nudity, strong language, violence, excessive gore, and torture?Yes, the competition will create a warning screen that will display before your film. You must inform the competition's production beforehand. This will not influence your film's time limit.
